Locked in chains for being infertile….

My current topic of interest surrounds how individuals from different cultures handle the presence of infertility. Many cultures place a lot of pressure on the idea of having large families. However, it is interesting to see what happens when this norm cannot be complied with.

I found myself reading about a villager in India who was locked in chains as a punishment for being infertile – I have to say, this disgusted me, have a read below.

This article successfully highlighted how mentally and physically demanding infertility can be! This demand further increases when cultural norms arise. Awareness of infertility needs to be spread to prevent incidents like this from recurring.
